What better than January for NBC to premeire its poplar weight lose reality show? With million of viewers making their New Year’s vows, NBC scored big in ratings due to their shrewd planning.
According to Nielsen overnight data, NBC’s The Biggest Loser averaged an 4.6 adults 18-49 rating from 8 to 10 p.m., giving the series’ its best-ever debut number, which is up 21 percent from last fall’s debut with an averaged 3.8, though the premiere was down slightly from last fall’s Biggest Loser finale. That episode drew a healthy 5.0 rating.
The premiere boosted NBC to a victory on the night, giving it a slight edge over CBS’s usually dominant lineup, which aired repeats of The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother and Two and a Half Men.
